Let's talk Property Taxes

I have had the opportunity to live outside of Utah for a considerable period of time and experienced property taxes in other states. I have siblings who lived most of their lives in the rust belt, Pittsburgh, PA. Housing is relatively inexpensive in Pittsburgh but the values don’t really go up. My siblings sold their homes for close to what they paid for them. Why? PROPERTY TAXES. So much of the home’s appreciation is eaten up by increases in property taxes. Affordability is what it is and when property taxes eat up a larger and larger chunk of that monthly payment less people can afford your beutiful home.

With the recent 12.5% increase from ASD, on top of years of increases, my property tax bill which we enjoyed when we first moved here is looking more and more like my bills in California. The most recent increase will add about $1K per year.

Do I want to stay with ASD and keep seeing my taxes go up? No.
Could I donate to support the split? Yes.
